The German-Ukrainian technical dialogue on sustainable development of the fruit and vegetable sector is progressing well. Concrete plans for the coming months were drawn up on site as part of a workshop. Through the targeted promotion of training and consulting, production conditions and storage capacities, as well as new business start-ups in the fruit and vegetable sector, the project can make an important contribution to the self-sufficiency of Ukraine with fresh food and the creation of new jobs in rural areas. As part of strategic agricultural investments, the project also supports the reconstruction of critical, agricultural infrastructure and value chains in the fruit and vegetable sector.
With the project German-Ukrainian Expert Dialogue, the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) supports Ukraine within its Bilateral Cooperation Program (BKP) in the development of sustainable fruit and vegetable production as part of the transformation of agricultural and food systems and to strengthen food sovereignty in Ukraine.
